I’m Baaaaaack!

May 24th, 2009

Hey everyone!

I’m back! Yes, I’m back working on the site and posting guides. Before I start updating again I want to address a few things about donations and requests:

Donations: Right now I’m working on going through all the donations that I have recieved both during the hiatus and before the hiatus. If any item that you have submitted to me is not available anymore then your donation will not be added to the site. If you submitted a donation for a full guide and one of the items is not available anymore, then the donation will not be added to the site unless your submitted guide contained an exact match/very close match. Close matches will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Requests: Requests are still closed until EVERY request one the request list has been completed. I’m also going through the requests list. Any links that are invalid will be deleted from the list. Also, if any requests link to JonasHQ’s old gallery URL those will be deleted since they moved their gallery URL.

That’s about it I think. I have all summer to make regular updates so expect a lot more!

Woot for a new update!

April 19th, 2009

new4new3new2new1

Hey everyone! So after over a month, there is finally a new update! I know it took forever and I’m really sorry!

The photos above (click on them for full size. Credit goes to Nick J Online for the images!) are new product images from the JONAS clothing line that I previously posted about. Again, these are for KIDS so they are in kids sizes. The scarves could probably be worn by tweens but I imagine that they will be too short for teens and adults.

There isn’t really much to say except for the big news that I tweeted about. Basically, the site will be on hiatus until May 24th (at the earliest.) This means that no updates will occur between now and then. I’ve decided after much thought and consultations from my dad that it is in my best interest to take a leave from the website. I have so much stuff coming up that I really can’t be worrying about updating the website. I have prom, school work, work, extracurricular, graduation, and most importantly finals which I’m going to have to nail if I want to graduate. So that being said, the website will be on an open hiatus until May 25th, the day after graduation. This date is tentative, because if I don’t pass Government I won’t graduate and I’ll have to go to summer school, but we’ll see about that when the time comes. I really hate to do this but it’s in my best interest for my sanity to do this.

That’s about it. I’ll still be posting in the cbox and you can follow me on twitter since I’m addicted to it, haha.

[edit on April 2nd]

Ok, so now that everyone pretty much figured it out…. April Fools! haha. I hope you all aren’t too mad at me. As “pop” explained in the cbox, there was a hidden phrase in the message. Go through and look at every letter that is capitalized and write them down in order. What does it spell?

I must say that I found it very hard to not reply to the messages left in the cbox, however I did say “The answer is right in front of you,” because people weren’t getting it. For those saying that the capital letters thing was a good idea, thanks, but I can’t take credit for it. Taylor Swift does it in the booklets of all her albums. She leaves all the letters lowercase, then capitalizes certain letters to spell a hidden message. You can see an example here and all her secret messages are here. It was a genious idea so bravo Taylor. Again, hope you all aren’t too mad, and just to clear it up:

I am NOT quitting the site.

Clothing line?

March 12th, 2009

clothing41

Yep, that’s right. The picture above is from the new clothing line “Jonas” based on the boys’ new TV show. The full article and more pictures from the line are below:

Thanks to Disney Consumer Products, the Jonas Brothers franchise (based on Kevin, 21, Joe, 19, and Nick, 16) will soon include a full sportswear line for tweens, hitting mass retailers such as Wal-Mart, Kmart, Sears and J.C. Penney in time for back-to-school shopping

“We see this line as high opportunity for back-to-school,” said Pamela Lifford, executive vice president, Global Fashion & Home, Disney Consumer Products. “Also, as an added element, within each of the retailers we are offering up differentiation, so that each store has exclusive product on their floors.”

The apparel collection, called Jonas, will follow the launch of the Disney Channel’s highly anticipated “Jonas” TV show, which is set to begin airing in May. On “Jonas,” the boys play the fictional New Jersey-based Kevin, Joe and Nick Lucas — a trio of teenage brothers who make up the world’s most popular rock band, Jonas (which happens to be the name of the street they live on in the show). On the show, the Lucas brothers do their best to live regular lives, but always seem to find themselves in the middle of some absurd situations. The comedy is set at the Lucas home, and at their private school, Horace Mantis Academy (a play on the well-known Riverdale, N.Y.- based private Horace Mann School).

Another major character on the show is the Lucas’ stylist-in-training, childhood friend Stella Malone, who not only keeps the brothers grounded, but also helps them out on the fashion front.

clothing31 The Jonas tween apparel collection is inspired by the preppy clothing seen on the show, and nearly all of it is not character driven — there are argyle sweater vests with the Horace Mantis Academy logo on the front; woven tops; T-shirts; polo shirts with ruffle accents on the neck and sleeves; plaid belted shorts; leggings; denim skirts, and jeans. The collection will retail from $9.99 to $24.99. The more than 200 Disney Stores around the country will carry a separate collection of Jonas Brothers T-shirts, which will have graphics of the three brothers on them.

“A Jonas Brothers clothing line is a really great idea,” said Jane Buckingham, president of the Intelligence Group, a market research firm with offices in Los Angeles and New York. “These days it’s all about lifestyle and celebrity — girls especially want to see the stars they love in all different aspects, and I certainly think they will buy into a clothing line from them.”

Buckingham said that in a similar way adults enjoy reading about celebrities in US Weekly or People, kids want to connect with their favorite stars by wearing their jeans.

Tweens are the right market for them,” she said of the Jonas collection. “Even though they typically go for more of that girl-to-girl connection, I am sure the company will be smart about how they market the brand, and I would think that the line wouldn’t be too masculine.”

Lifford admitted the brothers aren’t involved with the design of the product since the clothing is based on the characters they play on the show, not on their real day-to-day lives. Because they are on tour, none of the Jonas Brothers was available for comment. Lifford said Disney is planning major in-store promotions for the launch season and will work to support each of the retailers’ needs.

While the Jonas Brothers have generated millions of dollars since they first hit the scene a few years ago by selling out concert venues, making movies, CDs, TV shows and writing a book, some have speculated the trio’s popularity could be headed south. “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience,” released last month, raked in only $12.7 million in its first weekend at the box office. The entertainment industry has called it a major disappointment as it was expected to bring in as much as $40 million on opening weekend following the brothers’ recent sold-out tour. The soundtrack sold under 50,000 copies and, to make matters worse, the film ranks as one of the worst movies of all time in Internet Movie Database’s ongoing readers’ poll.

But parents of the band’s tween fans love the boys’ squeaky clean image, which could compel them to spend money on the new apparel line for b-t-s. And while their latest film may have been a disappointment, they remain massively popular. Late last year, the Jonas Brothers became the first musical act in history to occupy three spots in the Billboard Top 10 album chart in a single week. Also, after the successful Disney film “Camp Rock,” a sequel is said to be in development. In it, the Jonas Brothers are expected to return as the band Connect Three, and their youngest brother, eight-year-old Frankie, is also slated to make an appearance. Filming is expected to begin this summer.

The $40 billion Disney also has plenty of experience developing and marketing tween-friendly merchandise. It all started with “Lizzy Maguire,” which aired from 2001 to 2004 and catapulted Hilary Duff to stardom. That show was followed in 2003 by “That’s So Raven” (starring Raven-Symoné), “Kim Possible” and “Hannah Montana,” which continues to dominate the consumer products arena and has made Miley Cyrus a star.

Merchandise from “Hannah Montana” and “High School Musical,” another highly popular Disney franchise, raked in $2.7 billion in retail sales for 2008. Disney anticipates the Jonas enterprise will be equally, if not more, profitable for them.

“The difference we have with the Jonas Brothers is that we have three young men,” Lifford said. “And when you look at their customer following, we have the whole heartthrob play, which is a great thing for us to work with when we are talking about tween girls.”

And could a tween boys or young men’s line be not too far behind? At least for now, Lifford said, it’s girl’s only, but Buckingham believes there’s plenty of room for Jonas Brothers merchandise.

“The Jonas Brothers are a lifestyle, not just a boy band,” she said. “Their movie lets you into their world, and the clothing line is just another way to do that; it’s a way to get closer to them and their world.”

What do you think about the new line? Was this what the boys were talking about when they said they were going to create a clothing line?

My Thoughts: I personally do not love it. I think it’s silly but of course Disney is wanting to squeeze as much money from the sure-to-be-a-hit show as possible. I really dont like that’s it’s girls sizes, but of course tweens/girls are more likely to buy a line based on a show than teens/women. Hopefully, this was not what the boys were talking about when they said they were making a clothing line..

So anyway, new vlog is up on the Youtube and in the sidebar so go check that out. New update below. There are no male guides because I wanted to save those so they could have their own update. But anyways, comment please and I hope you all enjoy this update!

Cbox abuse…

February 23rd, 2009

So lately I’ve noticed the following things happening in the cbox:

1. People are bashing the boys
2. People are yelling at me after I try to enforce the rules
3. People are abusing the “click my name” and using it as a way to advertise their site.
4. People are not staying on the topics of the site or the boys.
5. People are ganging up on people if they do not follow the rules.

So, and I am going to address each of these points individually below:

1. People bashing the boys: Urban Dictionary defines bashing as: (v)to insult something. Saying things like “arent they kinda..gay” is bashing. Calling the boys gay is bashing. End of story. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, yes, but if it is going to hurt someone it does not need to be posted in the cbox.

2. People are yelling at me after I try to enforce the rules: This is unacceptable; period. This is MY site, I make the rules. Arguing with me over the rules that I’VE created is extremely disrespectful. If you can not follow the rules then you do not need to be posting in the cbox; end of story.

3. People are abusing the “click my name” and using it as a way to advertise their site: This was supposed to be a one time only thing for Jacob to give Jay the link to his website. However, what has happened is people have taken this as a sign that they can do this as well. No one will be doing this in the future. The colors have been changed so that the link colors will be a different color from the text so people will know whether your name is linked to a website and if it is they can choose to click your name, but there will be none of this “click my name” stuff again.

4. People are not staying on the topics of the site or the boys: This is a big issue. As I said before, the cbox is for talking about the website or talking about the Jonas Brothers. Straying from these topics is not allowed, as per the rules. There isn’t much to say except for that.

5. People are ganging up on people if they do not follow the rules: Do NOT do this. I understand that everyone is just trying to help out with the site, but this leads to fighting. So in the future, if someone says something you don’t agree with or if they do not follow the rules, do not say anything. I will catch it and delete the message and ban the person.

Please, everyone, let’s try to keep up with these. I know we are a close knit group, which I love, but that doesn’t mean that we/ya’ll are above the rules. You still have to follow them, whether I know you or not. Furthuremore, I still want us to be able to accept new visitors who want join in on the fun too. So, if anything above happens again, the cbox will be removed, which I don’t want to have to do.

Thank you everyone!

Wow, I’m a terrible owner!

February 14th, 2009

I’m so sorry for not updating guys! I feel terrible about it! But here’s an update coming your way right now!

There are a bunch of new Media Style Vault entries. Check them out below. Thanks to John Mayer (well, his Twitter) for talking about the Huffington Post. He wrote on his Twitter: “Huffington Post is now taking fashion digs at the Jonas Brothers. Pick a side, HP are you the ‘hippies’ or the ‘plastics’?” Just a little something I thought was cool. So check that article out and a few others. The one from WFAA actually “profiles” Jonas Fashion so make sure to check that out! The last article is from the LA Times and it’s an interview with Michelle Tomaszewski, the boys’ stylist and she gives girls tips on how to dress like the boys!

I’ve also added the links to the E! Fashion Police, both Golden Globes, and Grammys in the video section. Thanks to Katarina for the link to the E! Fashion Police: Grammys video. You got to check that one out because the boys were nominated for Best Dressed! Yay!

A new vlog is being uploaded as well so look out for that soon and I’ll post it in this post when it’s up. I strongly suggest that you subscribe to my channel so you know when new videos are uploaded because I want to be able to post as many videos as possible, like I just made a new video of one of my cat that is super cute, but couldn’t really be posted on the site because it’s not pertaining to the site. So I suggest you subscribe so you know when new videos are posted. I have three videos lined up already, 2 that have been filmed and the third is about to be filmed. So again, subscribe!

That’s about it. Thank you all for being so patient and so understanding about my schedule, I’m trying my hardest here and to know you guys are still here really means a lot to me!

E!’s Fashion Police: Golden Globes: Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers

I’ll have guides for their outfits up soon!

I’ve created Jonas Fashion’s Youtube channel! Unfortunately, youtube.com/jonasfashion was taken so instead the channel is http://youtube.com/therealjonasfashion! No videos up yet, I’ve been trying to upload my first vlog but it’s not working too well. When it is uploaded I will post it on the sidebar.

Next, visitor Jenny emailed me about her myspace! She makes scrapbooks for the boys! If you would like to help her out visit http://www.myspace.com/scrapbookjonas. Thanks!

I can’t believe I forgot to tell you all what happened at the concert! So, the show was amazing! Nothing to big to report except that Nick looked at me like 10 times! I took 1 video and a lot of pictures (almost 400!) If you would like to view the video, it’s of the boys doing No Air with Jordin Sparks, Click Here! New Update!

January 17th, 2009

Join in on the Forums today!

A lot to talk about in this update!

Sorry, this took so long! Super busy! But anyways,

I posted about this in the last update but we now have a new network! The Forums! I want this to be really successful so please please please join and post! It would mean so much to me! Thanks!

Next, what do you guys think of me making weekly vlogs? Either about the site or me or both? I think it would be kinda cool and it’d be a great way for you guys to see what’s going on when there isn’t an update. So I’ve put a poll in the right sidebar and vote and tell me what you think of this idea! If it gets a good response I will start making vlogs asap!

Dont forget about the boys’ live chat tomorrow (Sunday, January 18) at 5 EST. The main room is full right now and probably will be until after the chat is over but get an account anyway and join one of the rooms. However, the boys can only see comments in the main room so if you are in one of the other rooms they won’t be able to see what you are writing.

That’s about it. I need 7 comments before the next update! So start commenting and enjoy!

Happy New Year!

January 2nd, 2009

happynewyear

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve! I just wanted to take a minute to thank you all for visiting the site and making it so successful. I truly appreciate every comment and donation and request that I receive. Without you all there would be no Jonas Fashion. I hope you will continue to visit in 2009 and watch as this site gets even bigger and better than ever before!

So, to kick off the new year, I’ve created a couple new tshirt designs for the Jonas Fashion Store. The first says “Disco Saved My Life” which, for those that don’t know, is a phrase that Kevin said. The second (which is being called “The Jonas Line”), which I think is super cute, each shirt has a grey star and guitar on the front with the word “Jonas” over them. The backs of each shirt says the boys nicknames (President, Danger, K2) and their birth years (92, 89, 87) They are all super cute and come in Womens, Mens, and Youth sizes. For some reason though, the mens versions’ images are bigger than the womens and youths. The third is a redo of Nick’s Team Hilario shirt. It’s way more accurate and looks a lot better overall. So to check them out click below:

Disco Saved My Life
The Entire Jonas Line
Team Hilario V.2

Last, but most certainly not least, I’ve created a forum! Now we can all hang out there and chat and have fun! Check it out Here. It’s pretty empty right now but once people start registering and posting I have a feeling it will be thriving! The only thing I ask is that you read the rules and don’t post in all caps. So head on over there and start posting!

That’s about it! Thanks for visiting and Welcome to 2009!
